Unfinished dice (sometimes called "raw" dice) are straight out of the molds and have not had any sanding, polishing, or inking done. They are functionally fine to be finished and made playable, or even used for other art projects like jewelry, keychains, etc.

Raw dice are a great way to still get unique dice at a much lower price point than finished sets. Instructions for how to finish them can be found here, or you can add a polishing pack to your set to get a printed version along with a small set of polishing papers.

Occaisionally there will be "polished, uninked" dice available as well. I've done a lot of the work, but the numbers are still bare so you can add your own flair!
